Nobody is trained for parenthood. Maternal instinct is a myth. The real work is every day, and hanging in when mistakes are made. But I think, too, that the nuclear family is too limiting—that it really does take a village. So creating a “dad tribe” is spot on. I hope many dads will join.
Absolutely. And in some ways, in the past, the “training” came from the village that is now missing. Or better put, the wisdom to give parents a foundation off which to work.
Christian, our perspectives and longing for a compelling vision and community of fatherhood seem to align. Looking forward to reading more of your work and connecting further. I am running my own free substack in an effort to get my thoughts out into the electronic ether, so feel encouraged to subscribe and provide feedback!
Steven, I appreciate you taking the time to read the post and check out the project. 🙏🏼 I'll be sure to check out Helper. Is there an initial post you think I should start with, as it relates to fatherhood and community?
